Brian Niesz
I put the “multi” in multimedia.
Storytelling through video, podcasts, music, graphic design, web development, and data.
Vertical Video
In the WCPO-TV newsroom, I developed and deployed the content plan for short-form vertical video. I produced and edited social videos from news packages, raw footage, b-roll, and photos as well as mentored reporters in creating their own vertical videos.
Graphic Design
I handled graphic design duties in the WCPO-TV newsroom that enhanced storytelling, including creating interactive visuals, infographics, and web layouts to support reporters’ stories.
Digital Lounge
From 2013 to 2020, I spearheaded production at WCPO’s “Digital Lounge,” a hub for podcasting, music performances, live-streaming, and digital-first content.
Podcasts
I launched, produced, and edited WCPO’s podcasts, including several sports podcasts and a weekly local news podcast.
The Who: The Night That Change Rock
On December 3rd, 1979, eleven people were killed on the plaza outside a Who concert at Riverfront Coliseum in downtown Cincinnati.

Lounge Acts
Lounge Acts was a live music performance series that started at WOXY.com internet radio in 2005. After serving as an audio engineer at WOXY.com until its end, I brought Lounge Acts to WCPO-TV where I produced, shot, edited, mixed, and eventually hosted the series.
