Meet Brian

Hi! I’m Brian Niesz, a music recording engineer and producer in Cincinnati, OH.

I started recording music on a cassette four-track in my basement as a teenager. Since then, I’ve worked on dozens of albums, mixed hundreds of live radio/video sessions, and toured North America mixing music.

I worked as an engineer at UltraSuede Studio.  There, I worked on projects for The Afghan Whigs, The Greenhornes, Coldplay, and MTV. I recorded and mixed albums for artists like Heartless Bastards and Barrence Whifield.

I’ve mixed front-of-house on tour with Heartless Bastards, Generationals, WHY?, and Wussy.

I was the mix engineer for WOXY Lounge Acts where I mixed live sessions for hundreds of alternative artists including Frank Black, Black Angels, and Sharon Jones.

After WOXY, I brought the Lounge Acts series to WCPO-TV and added a video component. I also produced and hosted podcasts about new and podcasts.

Now I am a recording engineer at The Lodge KY in nearby Dayton, KY.  The Lodge is a renovated Masonic Lodge that includes the largest live recording room in the Cincinnati area.

Outside the studio, I love listening to my 2000+ LPs, watching movies, hanging with my cats and rooting for the Bengals.

I’d love to chat about your next recording project or tour.
